VCA aka Alex is currently one of Switzerland's most active DJ's, producer and promoter. His name stands for upfront Drum'n'Bass under all its' aspects - pure dubplate pressure.
Since back in 1996, VCA is promoting all "Fri-Son Drum'n'Bass Authorities"-labelled events, which invite UK's most upfront D&B producers to please Fribourg's crowd @ Fri-Son. This led to strong friendships with some of Englands most valuable artists and fills VCA's case with upfront sounds. To reach a wider range of people all over Switzerland, VCA and his friends George Gee and Gerhard S. successfully started promoting the "g3-productions"-series in collaboration with the "Dachstock" @ Berne's Reithalle. This serie has been carried on under the "Dachstock Darksides" to please a maximum of D&B-heads. Watch out!
VCA's path as DJ starts back in 1995, where he used to throw Grunge-parties at Fri-Son under a different pseudonym. He then moved on to Acid-House, before discovering the dark Drum'n'Bass thing. 1996 he finally gathered his first studio together and made his first steps into production. This led to his first outlets on the London-based label "Spektrum Audio". Future collaborations with Facs left their imprint with releases such as "Paperclip" or "Incendry".
His range of clubs currently affects all Switzerland-based clubs in cities like Berne, Fribourg, Zürich, Lausanne, Geneva and many more. He also did two tours in Russia back in 1998 and 2000, rocked "Rude FM" in London during one of Dylan&Facs' weekly Sunday sessions for "Dropping Science", and he is currently seeking to push the boundaries further out. His strong activity as a DJ and the strong acceptance from Switzerland's crowds made him a finalist of Ericssons' Dance Music Awards 2000.
Other activities went from monthly radio-shows on a nationwide radio-station (Couleur3), where presenting the future sounds of D&B was the main goal, to writing a review section in a magazine for electronic music.
Never resting, never satisfied, this guy is set for more surprises in the near future.
