About Me

Jen de Ness and Bill Atkinson have performed in various musical line ups between them with gigs at Perth Entertainment Centre, Government House Ballroom, PICA, Fly By Night , Victor Harbour Music Festival and various Festivals, pubs and clubs throughout Australia. Jen has been composing songs on piano for 15 years and teaching her "Voicedance" method for the same period, which has also informed her vocal compositons.
Jen and Bill have been fellow composers/ arrangers for the past 12 years. Their broad taste of musical genre coupled with their extensive training in music,voice, sound, dance and theatre, informs their compositions and performances to provide a rich and fertile ground for an eclectic, original sound.
Their songs have received airplay on ABC Radio National, RTR, Radio Fremantle and 6WF. Their more recent original material has featured at Kulcha, Mojos, Swan, WOW, various cafes/restaurants, Poetry Festivals, House Concerts and private concerts. de Ness perform a selection of their original material every Friday fortnight at the de Ness & Friends @ Scots Show.

More recently Jen and Bill have moved over to delighting larger outside audiences, with their electric original dance/groove mix. On the main stage of Fremantle Festival in November 2008 they successfully mixed a blend of their smooth acousic groove with more of their upbeat orgiginal dance songs.

de Ness consists of songwriting duo, Jen de Ness and Bill Atkinson, who have been composing together for 12 years. Jen and Bill have been joined by many wonderful musos over the years .
Since January 2008 de Ness have played regularly with Cellist/Poet,Kevin Gillam, at the de Ness & Friends Shows.

Other previous live guest musos include, Greg Coles on Double Bass, Cathie Travers on piano accordion, Paul Tanner on percussion.Guests on "Storyteller" CD include Ray Vine on Sax, Russell Holmes on Piano, Rick Eastman on Drums, Ross Bolleter on Piano Accordion, Marcus Dengate on Bass and Peter Grayling, cello.

Jen and Bill are currently taking time out to record more of their original tracks for international release.
