..Wynn Taylor enjoys being the featured entertainer at Hickory Street Bar & Grill at the corner of 8th & Congress in Downtown Austin. You'll find both Hickory Street and Wynn located between the historic Paramount Theater and the Majestic Texas State Capitol. You can often be lead there by the sounds of this popular Austin singer/songwriter. Wynn was born and raised in Lexington Kentucky. As a son of a “blue collar” preacher, he found it was the music part of the service that spoke to him. Wynn’s music career started with singing in church continuing on to his school days, which lead to basement bands and then at sixteen years of age he was sneaking off the roof of his parent’s house to play at the local bars.
After a four-year hitch in the U.S. Army (Desert Storm included), Wynn traveled around Europe, Canada and the USA, writing music, collecting stories and adventures.
Wynn has opened for Guy Clark, Leon Russell, Band Of Heathens, Two Tons Of Steel, Guy Forsyth, Hank Jr's Bama Band,NRBQ & even picked a day away with Doug Dillard of The Dillards (AKA The Darlins) from The Andy Griffith Show to name just a few. He has also shared the stage with top Nashville songwriters as well as playing with many of the top pickers.
Wynn’s travels have landed him in Austin, Texas where he has resided for the past year and a half. Never forgetting his Kentucky roots, Wynn admits he has fallen in love with Austin, its music scene and all it has to offer.
Wynn was a featured musical artist on the My Fox Austin, WKYTs Noon Show in Lexington, as well as numerous radio shows. Now Wynn has his sights set on a short tour through Oregon. There is also a new cd in the works!
