At 20, Phillippa is emerging as one of the UK’s most promising young singer/songwriters. Last year, her own song, Guiding Light, was the most ‘listened-to’ song in a national competition run by Classic FM. She has performed live on BBC Radio Cornwall, Atlantic FM and most recently on Radio Devon’s Live Lounge which broadcasts as far as Canada.At 15, she performed with her choir, to over 25,000 people at the Birmingham NEC with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and also at the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the world renowned Classical Spectacular. The following year, she won a silver medal with her choir at the Choir Olympics in Bremen, Germany.Phillippa is also an accomplished violinist, having studied at Wells Cathedral School and is now working towards her Diploma. At 14 she was the youngest member of Wells’ senior and chapel choir as well as their Big Band. They also nominated her for a Channel 4 prodigious music award. In 2001, Phillippa was a member of the National Children’s Orchestra and in 2006 she toured Poland with the Cornwall Youth Orchestra.Currently the youngest Principal member of the Duchy Opera, Phillippa has been touring with them this summer for the production of Handel’s opera, Semele, playing the part of Cupid. She has also recently performed as a guest soloist at the Daphne Du Maurier Festival and the 3 Wishes Fairy Fest held on Bodmin Moor.She continues to study voice, piano, violin, theory and composition in order to develop her career as a singer and songwriter. She is hoping to further her studies in the US in 2009.
