Battle of the Bits (BotB) is a resource for international digital artists to meet and greet each other. No style is truly superier to another but through combat we can find ourselves. BotB is a creative community site featuring competitive battles of various digital art platforms.
SOME BotB HISTORY
Organized by Blank, BotB started in May 2003 as a local event titled "Ann Arbor Int'l Electronic Music Composition Competition" (or A²IEmc²). Competitors were given 25 samples and 48 hours to produce original material. The same event repeated two more times in the Ypsi-Arbor Michigan USA area, people exchanging CDs in person or by email. Everyone's submissions were played back LOUD in a venue. The third compo was quite a sucess with 33 entries and over 200 people in attendance.
...and then...
Battle of the Bits was born. As a website, BotB has handled numerous remixing, tracking & chiptune compos over the past three years. Designed with demo scene and the interactivity of an MMORPG in mind, BotB trudges ahead fearlessly into depths unknown.
