About Me

Hey everyone my name is September I'm 27 years old, and I'm a Ewing's Sarcoma surviver. I've been in remission for 17 years, obviously you can figure out that I was very young when I was diagnosed with cancer 5 years old to be exact. I had a tumor in my right humerous bone, I under went an experimental limb sparing operation up at UCLA Medical Center that had never been performed before. It was either try that or amputate completely. Back in 1986 when I was diagnosed with Ewing's the survival rate was only 5%. It is a miracle that I'm sitting here typing this right now, and with both of my hands! I'm truly blessed by God, and believe he spared my life for a reason. I would not change the fact that I got Cancer for anything because it is the reason why I'm the person that I am today.I went through two years straight of Chemo-Therapy, and so far I've had 12 operations to lenghthen the prothsesis that was implanted in my arm.I've started this page because Ewing's Sarcoma is such a rare form of cancer, and I'm hoping that I can bring together fighters, and survivers of this disease and also form a team in Orange County for next year's Relay for Life event. I know this can be done, we just need to get the word out and support eachother! Don't think that you have to know someone that has or has had Cancer to be a part of this, this Team is for EVERYONE and ANYONE to be a part of. So if you live in Orange County or the surrounding area come and join our team! Team Sarcoma 2008!!!..
