The band was started by 4 skate punks in 1986. Playing shows mostly at the Legendary Ortons Pool Hall with other oldschool bands such as the HegToads, From Beyond and Rural Swine. In 1989 the 4 piece band added a 2nd guitar player. Then in 1992 the band broke down into a three piece band. All tore up has done many shows around the south with: The Doldrums, Scream(w/ Dave Groll), The Ramones, D.R.I., Bazoka Joe, Bedlam Hour, The Undead, COC, The Meat Men, Rollins Band, Roger Merritt, and the list is endless. Once we smoked out Bad Brains @ our headlining show (the night before they headlined) and, Darryl & Earl gave us a hard time for our "Fuck You God Damn it" sticker (I pointed at John & said "He Did It").... ATU broke up in 1994 , but still have the original members since the 80's. ATU did there first reunion show in 2001, for the benifit of Clint Childress . To remind the public on how fucked up the (small town of) Wilmington P.D. really is and why the City of Wilmington (& Fat Uptight Redneck Cops) owe him a Public Apology. What a great band name "Fat Uptight Redneck Cops", i love it!!!!!
