Born & Raised in East Austin, TX. Douglas George Jr. a.k.a. Da Skew Boi had to overcome the struggle of not growing up with a father figure. His parents were divorced at the age of 8 and to express his feelings he turn to music and poetry. Being raised by a single parent and his father on drugs he thought music was the only way out. Da Skew Boi (pronounced school) got into music at a very young age. His uncle played keyboard for multiple bands and is also a very close friend of producer Salih Williams of Carnival Beats (produced such songs as Big Moe - Purple Stuff & Bar Baby, and Mike Jones – My ’64.) Da Skew Boi first stepped to the mic back in 2001, when he recorded his first single called “Fuck That†with fellow local artist Fire Ball and Fella for a mixtape that never got the chance to be released. Giving up rapping for about 4 years Skew Boi decided to give it another chance by joining Above All Entertainment. CEO of Above All Entertainment CheckMate said and I quote “Dedication and focus to do what’s necessary to improve as an artist overall is the reason I signed him.†Da Skew Boi is still afilliated with AAE, but he is doing his own thing at this current time. So with that in mind Da Skew Boi has been in the studio working hard to improve as an artist. He was on his first ever mixtape this year call “A’s Down Tell’em Look!†which did fairly nice numbers on datpiff.com. Da Skew Boi is currently in the studio working on his debut solo release mixtape entitled “Back 2 Skew Da Mixtape Series: First Semester,†which is the first of a series of mixtapes to be released. Featured on the mixtape will be artists such as Quez and Qurious of Qurious Productions, also Fella and Slim of Yea Boi Entertainment, and M.E.T.H. of StarHot Entertainment.
