About Me

Elisabetta has been working on the jazz scene since 1988 (Four and More, Elisabetta Prodon Jazz Quintet), also singing with Italian gospel singer Francesca Oliveri in a vocal ensamble and as alto in her Deep River Choir (Gospel and Spiritual). In 1991 she founded “L’Anonima Vocali”, a vocal ensamble winner in April 1997 of the “Quartetto Cetra“ prize in Grosseto (Italy).
She loves bossanova music and, most of all, brasilian culture. She works with different projects in that music style: the most important one is a research about the “brasilian songs with italian lyrics”, well-known songs in Italy during the ‘70s but nowadays almost forgotten. Songs by artists like Chico Buarque, Toquinho, Vinicius de Moraes, Baden Powell, Tom Jobim which found their way to reach our people’s hearts by the work of Sergio Bardotti, Giorgio Calabrese and other Italian poets.
This project is played live with the guitar of Flavio Brio, the percussions of Luciano Ali’, the saxophones of Valerio Signetto, the bass of Enrico Ciampini and has led to the recording of a CD entitled “Samba e Amore” (like Chico Buarque’s hit) produced by the jazz label Philology.
This CD was recorded first in Natal, Brasil, by Eduardo Taufic (great artist, thank you Dudu!!) and then in Venice, Italy, by Renato Greco's "Nossa Alma Canta" (saravah Renato!!!). She played live in Natal, Brasil, in 2005 and 2006.
She also loves jazz and founded as a vocal leader: “Nat King Cole Homage” trio (with Enrico Ciampini and Roberto Pedroli), “Chet Baker Homage” trio (with Silvia Cucchi and Lalo Conversano) and “All Sisters” gospel female choir (as a director and arranger). She also founded “Non Dimenticar”, a recovery project about the 20th century Italian jazz song (played with piano, bass and vocal trio); for this project she writes original vocal arrangements in ‘40s-‘50s style. Since 2002 she has been the vocal leader of “The Jazz Workshop”, jazz big band led by Lalo Conversano (USA), formerly trumpet of Tommy Dorsey’s Orchestra, with whom she sung at famous Ascona Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Her 'Nordeste' (Brasilian music) group is performing in Europe (Germany, Austria) besides best theatres and festivals in Italy.
She has been teaching vocal technique, jazz singing, improvisation, gospel in Italy since 1988, also working with American and famous jazz artists.
