Band Members: Members? I've heard "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side." --- Hunter S. Thompson But this is also the man that said, "buy the ticket, take the ride.":
I got my Myspace layout from pYzam .

Sounds Like: What do DAN AND LELAND sound like?In the hypothetical situation of being held at gunpoint and forced to vocally list my favorite acoustic artists, (it may be a stretch, but you either do/think you do have imagination), I'd blurt out Rodrigo y Gabriela, Joni Mitchell, Damien Rice, Dan and Leland, etc...If this same question was forced upon me again (and I don't know what crook has time to do this), but in the rock genre, I'd say The Southland, Led Zeppelin, Bloc Party, Dan and Leland, etc...After playing out this psychotic hypothetical episode in my head, I realized that there have to be so few avid music listeners that can compile the same artist into two very separate musical genres. After this long and sordid rumination, I felt compelled to tell my friends/fans what I consider to be true talent in every sense of the musical world. Both Dan, also a gifted producer, and Leland, a qualified Luthier command their instruments in a way that make the listener's surroundings dissolve or at least numb as though they were dripping with novocaine. When playing as the organic acoustic duo, we're awakened to a gentle yet solid, melodically transient journey that fulfills a spiritual void (at least for me and so many other lucky friends I know).
If, on a whim, they decide to play rock music with their accompanying band, they give you an ass-kicking, weight-shifting performance that almost makes you forget they aren't the pioneers of the genre.Their lyrics have the ability to be both playful and prophetic beyond the confines/constraints of the suffocative rock/folk plague of monotony.Instead of tirelessly plucking poetic phrases that cease to....OH, JUST GO TO myspace.com/danandleland and you can stop reading this verbose, pompous, but completely effectual review. I LOVE 'EM..IT"S TIME FOR YOU TO LISTEN. You can also buy all of their released albums on iTunes. As for my own music, .A friend wrote, "your demos sound great, btw. I found it to be a fresh blend of jazz vocal sensibility coupled with an eclectic Ani Difranco-esque indie grrrl vibe topped off with a post-Bjork/Jewel innocence that keeps the whole affair accessible... in short, who do I give my 14.99 to? ;) "
