Unsigned bands of the month - SeptemberBand location: Las Vegas, Nevada
A little about Amarionette: Amarionette started off as Oh Hello with the two founding members Paul Garcia and Andy Pugh (ex-members of the Cab) the project formed after the their departure from the Fueled by Ramen up starts the Cab they immediately began writing new material for the new project. They then later convinced a friend Daniel Conway (ex-member of You in Series)to improve and elaborate on what was originally recorded by Alex Johnson (the Cab) on the drums; Later while looking for a singer they ran into Quin White who Daniel knew b4 hand. Oh hello was complete but needed two things a name change due to the comparison to Circa Survive and a bass player, While writing the lyrics for their EP "GOODBYE EXPLOSIONS" the name Amarionette was suggested and stuck, after a short run w/ their 1st bass player the band found Brian Sims(ex-member of Thrash Unreal)and are now a working unit called AMARIONETTE! Which is a play on the fact that marionettes are puppets w/ strings to be controlled but Amarionettes can cut the those ties and control their own destiny.
Band location: Kalamazoo/Jackson Michigan
A little about The Happy Accidents!: We have been a band since 2005, going through many members and changes of genre. We have recently settled on a solid line up and have found our home playing pop punk with some hardcore influences. We have gone on several tours ranging from the east coast of the United States to several provinces in Canada. We released a four song summer sampler in June and are working hard on a debut full length for 2009.
Band location: New York, New York
A little about Kids Of Survival: Hailing from Queens, NY, KIDS OF SURVIVAL started playing music together what seems like ages ago. (On the 7th day, when God rested, KIDS OF SURVIVAL was hard at work learning which chord progressions would best make Adam and Eve dance.) Under the pretense of making worthwhile rock music, the guys were more into having a good time and trying to kiss girls than writing great songs but eventually began to take their music very seriously in the summer of 2003.For two years they played after school and toured on the weekends until finally recording a full lengh CD with producer Tomas Costanza in the summer of 2005. At a time when so many bands rely on the formula of "If you scream it, they will come," or the emo cry of "Slice my wrists and hope to die," KIDS OF SURVIVAL had made an unapologetically technologically brain-crackling catchy record. Call it Indie; call it Powerpop; call it crap; call it what you will; they called it "Good Till Your Heart Pops". It was released November 29th, 2005 while on tour with Halifax, and sold over 4000 copies in seven months. Not too shabby for a band who's van tried to kill them by throwing a tire in an Arizona desert in the summer of 2006.Utterly free of anyone's expectations, high or otherwise, they recently booked another national tour (complete with an old Atari 2600 in their van) selling out clubs in NYC, Philly and Long Island. They have opened for such national acts such as: Sugarcult, Story of the Year, Bayside, From First to Last, Halifax, Punchline, Spitalfield, Valencia, Bed light for Blue Eyes, HelloGoodBye, I Am The Avalanche, Four Year Strong, Houston Calls, Brazil, Emery and many more.Unafraid to wear their heart on their collective sleeve, KIDS OF SURVIVAL are releasing their sophomore CD on January 8th 2008. Over saturation has blighted the robust market that's now only a memory. Savvy insurgents buffet K.O.S. with science as technological innovation renders those once vigorous sensations shopworn. Blessing the house with some of that old time religion, NYC's KIDS OF SURVIVAL are proselytizing and profilin' in '08 with the release of their latest effort. Ferociously rocking with a high-wire fragility, the music stuns and satisfies like nothing else (except maybe an ice cold Pabst Blue Ribbon!).
Band location: Tampa, Florida
A little about The Fight At The Show: Four piece pop rock band from Tampa, these guys are great musicians and really friendly, check them out!
Unsigned bands of the month - AugustBAND INFO:There isn't a soul in the world who couldn't tell a story of how that perfect song was there for them when no one in the world was. How those carefully constructed chords and clever penmanship of a stranger somehow feels like it was written specifically for you. Maybe it made you smile, maybe it stole your heart, or maybe it even saved your life, but one way or another it moved you in a way too powerful to describe with words. The boys of ArmsLikeYours are all walking testimonies of being in debt to the work of strangers. Hailing from Orange County and Los Angeles, five refined veterans of the local music scene are blending the elements of rock, hardcore, and pop in an effort to walk in the steps of those who came before, and to leave something behind for everyone who follows after.
BAND INFO: Everything Zen, or EZ, is a 4 piece group out of Mentor, Ohio. The band consists of four boys looking to put all their talents together as one to make it in the music business filled with pop punk/screamo bands. It is made up of zach on vocals, Vince on guitar, Kevin on drums, and Josh on bass. Although age may show they are not mature enough to make it in the biz, the talent they have and the music they write begs to differ. Keep an eye out for this band as they take their music to new levels. They will be recording a 3 to 4 song sampler in the near future and shopping that around to different labels and hoping to just get their music heard on a global stage.
EZ is proud to have shared the stage with bands such as: The Secret Handshake (Triple Crown Records), Between the Trees (Universal Records), Foxy Shazam (Ferret/New Weatherman Records), 2*Sweet (By A Thread Records), Fireworks (Run For Cover Records), DriverSideImpact (Victory Records), I See Stars, The Promise Hero (TDR Records), The Bigger Lights, and The Thrifters.
BAND INFO: Sleep Like Vegas is a band from Texas made up of a few best friends. They're an acoustic band and are currently working on a lot of new songs. The guys are completely dedicated to the band and agree that its all about the music and having fun and loving what you do.
BAND INFO: Semi new band from Chicopee, Massachusetts and growing every day. Guitarist Patrick gets rave reviews on the band's lyrics, which he posts in his blogs on his own myspace. Overall these boys just want be the next fun pop punk band.
