Well, let's see... I've had an unstoppable passion for music since my big brother gave me my first Van Halen tape when I was five years old. Over the years, that passion has taken me on some great adventures and afforded me opportunities to experience things that most people only talk about!
After playing in several jazz combos in college, I joined the band Pause For Effect just before graduation to be their saxophone and keys player. Six years, two studio albums, several hundred shows, several thousand CDs, and an international magazine feature later, a lineup change and a shift in musical direction led to the birth of Everything After. And presto, I woke up one day and was the rhythm guitarist! At this point we regrouped, recorded an E.P., and toured the southeast for a year or so while receiving an unprecedented amount of radio play for an unsigned band. Then, in early 2008, I decided it was time to move on and let the rest of the band do their thing with some new blood and fresh perspective.
All in all, it was eight years of mostly fantastic times! I had the opportunity to meet and perform with some amazing bands like Maroon5, Seven Mary Three, Buckcherry, Collective Soul, Sister Hazel, and Tonic just to name a few.
I was also fortunate enough to be able to make records with some well respected producers including Duane Baron (Ozzy Osbourne, Rod Stewart, Tracy Chapman), Dan Hannon (Manchester Orchestra, Aaron Shust) and ATL veterans Rin Vinson and Aaron Thompson. Recording with all of these guys was a huge learning experience for me both as a musician and as an aspiring producer.
Now, as a producer myself, I try to use the experiences I've had in the business (combined with my formal education) to help artists take their music and vision to the next level.
