About Me


Aaron Levinson is a veteran of the music industry, a Grammy-winning producer with a background as a co-founder of the legendary and infamous Philadelphia funk collective Gutbucket. He has produced and/or released over 20 albums and co-composed and produced the score for the Cinemax documentary "How Do You Spell Murder?" directed by Oscar-winning directors Alan and Susan Raymond. He is also an ASCAP-affiliated songwriter and publisher and has an international co-publishing agreement with Evergreen Copyrights for his compositions in 43 countries around the world. Levinson is a former governor of the Philadelphia chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Aaron is currently working out of Range Recording Studio in Ardmore, PA.
In addition to his work as a producer and engineer Aaron has taught film studies and music business courses at Temple University and the University Of The Arts and writes extensively about the history and evolution of American music. He is a founding member of the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, LARAS. Levinson has produced records for Time-Warner, Sony-BMG and Rykodisc among many others. Music produced by Aaron has been featured in major motion pictures(Music Of The Heart) as well as independent features(Girlfight) and has most recently been included in the Rockstar Games video game of The Warriors.
