M-DON is one such artiste who was born in Kingston, Jamaica in the 1970s and grew up in New York, USA. Today, a product of both societies, this ambitious young man has crafted a career as a performer and producer of reggae and hip hop music. His role models from the hip hop fraternity include The Notorious B.I.G. and Busta Rhymes, primarily for their successes in this genre and their Jamerican links. They too are second generation Americans with Jamaican parentage and the authentic brand of New York’s streets.The streets of Kingston, Jamaica also shaped and moulded MDON. Always keeping with his roots, he is keen to maintaining his Jamaican heritage. His musical influences include a number of the greats in reggae music. This segment allows the people of these communities a “voice†to address the nation. “In The Streets†is one of the most acclaimed shows on local and international television. This program is aired weekly on RE TV. and in 2007 M Don scored again with a video show called wicked videos which is aired on BET Jazz Cable Television station BET J.M-DON is a member of Grillaras Productions and is responsible for the conceptualisation and directing of music videos through the subsidiary Grillaras Pictures. Grillaras Productions is a Jamaican production company, spearheaded by Kahbir “Kabs†Bonner a recording engineer/Video Specialist and Producer. The mission of this company is to uplift the minds of the audience and create music and music videos of high international standards while promoting positive values and maintaining reputable business ethics.
