"[Their] face had the expression often seen in slightly cross-eyed persons who are thinking deeply, a look that appears to be both very wise and very crazy." - Carson McCullers
Ranges from Mum to Prefuse 73, Ani di Franco to Lamb, Fiona Apple to Bjork, Radiohead to Dr. Octagon, Coltrane to Soliloquists of Sound, Bad Religion to Bouncing Souls, Mussorogsky to san Saenz, Manu Chao to Leuzemia, Pharcyde to Funksroung, Aphex Twin and most anything exciting that lands in between... this answer is terribly unsatisfying.
All excellent art is a form of storytelling. I love stories, and film is one of my favorite mediums...this is really a conversation we should be having in person. Repeatedly.

Stories, stories, stories... The Little Prince, The Picture of Dorian Grey, Lord of the Rings, Grace Paley's Anthology, Atlas Shrugged, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Neruda's Odes, Don Quijote de la Mancha, anything by Doug Adams, Borges, Flannery O'Connor, Herr Hesse and most Salinger (save the Catcher in the Rye). My current passion is for Diderot. I'm also obsessed with the really boring, tedious stuff like philosophy and physics - though I wouldn't say that I like them. More like ocd. This is also a terribly unsatisfying answer.
Ghandi, Nicola Tesla, Schroedinger (I-ain't-afraid-of-no-cat),Winston Churchill, Harry Houdini, The Butterfly that stings like a bee, Samuel Clemens and M.C. Escher.
