MAW, buzzin' fly, naked music, chez, wave, strictly rhythm, guidance, i-records, loveslap, shifted, defected are some of the labels i love to play out/listen to.
with regards to seemingly less direct but no less important influences then the smiths, new order, the clash, stone roses, bill hicks, bloc party, the blue aeroplanes, faith no more, femi kuti, indian tea, ebtg, harold melvin and the blue notes, talking heads, simon and garfunkel, nick cave, leonard cohen, elvis (both mssrs presley and costello), bt, jamc and joe tex to name but a few
