It is with great joy that I pen this letter unto you. I want to share a testimony with you all and I pray that it encourages your hearts. While in the assembly, as the apostle was expounding on scripture the grace of God had a powerful impact upon my soul. Faith was drawn from my heart, as the grace of God brought illumination and enlightenment to my mind. These are the scriptures that were expounded.
1 John 1:1 ¶That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
1 John 1:2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
1 John 1:5 ¶This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
When I used to read 1 John the first chapter before I was lost concerning what it meant to walk in the light and how those who claim to have fellowship with the Father and still walked in darkness were classified as liars. I never got clear understanding of what it meant to walk in the light in the FRS. I now know that walking in the light has nothing to do with a thought process, but it is dependent upon your activity of faith. Those who yield their will to the grace of God, worship God in Spirit with the tools of the new covenant and in truth with the knowledge of Christ, these are they who walk in the light. Understanding this will give believers stronger discernment and they will be able to better differentiate between the wheat and the tares, simply the pattern they follow.
There are a lot of people today who claim to have fellowship with God, but are not obeying the commandments that Christ gave to the church by His apostles. Because they have not been properly trained by the apostles, they attempt to worship God with carnal tools such as the tithe, physical communion, and foot washings, not understanding that our fellowship with the Father is spiritual. By sowing to the flesh the soul remains in darkness, and the fruit of iniquity remains. This is what it means to reap corruption. In his epistle to the church in Galatia, the apostle Paul was speaking of the condition of the soul. This will be a point of transition for the church. For so long she has embraced a gospel that has been powerless to deliver the soul from sin and death. For so long the church has been mixing Moses with Christ to their own peril, going thru the motions but never experiencing regeneration of the soul or renewing of the mind because the Spirit will only bear witness to the truth and Christ will only finish what He authors.
Within the false religious system, Christians suffer defeat trying to overcome the flesh with the flesh. The wisdom of the world appeals to carnal Christians for it gives them a set of rules and regulations that they can use to change there circumstances and thereby author there own transformation. By changing their thought processes, there environments, their company they feel safe. But what they thought was regeneration was only a mask and the soul remains stained. Only the Spirit of God can search the innermost parts of the soul, which is were all the damage is. So by not obeying the new covenant commandments, they have resisted the grace of God, thus denying the power that transforms the soul. When one is not expressing faith by the pattern that the apostles deliver and say that they have fellowship with the Father, they lie. And when they stand before the Lord He will not know them, because the soul will be void of virtue, which is the fruit of faith.
We overcome sin, ourselves, Satan and the world through our fellowship with the Father, drawing nigh unto Him with the tools and knowledge of Christ. Through the instruction of living apostles, we learn how wage effective spiritual warfare. It has nothing to do with binding and loosing demons, for as we keep cadence with Christ though our daily fellowship, we walk in the light and no darkness can enter therein. Our soul remains in the care of the Father, as He nurtures and provides the grace necessary for our spiritual growth and development.
Before I had no idea what it meant to be born again, but as I continue steadfast in the apostles doctrine it continues to be a daily experience, as the fruit of the Spirit is born anew in my soul each day. Before I had no clue what it meant to know Christ in the power of His resurrection, but now as I seek the face of God I die to self and live unto Christ through my daily practice of my faith. Through the teachings of the apostles, I have learned how to walk in the Spirit and because of this I no longer suffer under guilt, condemnation, and shame. I know that my worship is pure and my faith is perfect, for I offer unto the Father the only acceptable sacrifice, Jesus Christ. Using His tools and knowledge, I am obedient in keeping the commandments of the Lord and because of this He continues to reveal Himself unto me. By His grace I have and will continue to be a partaker of His divine nature, being known unto Him by the fruit that He has birthed within my soul.
“Those who love God keep His commandments, and are known of Him by the fruit that He engrafts in the soul.â€
