"it is amazing when i am drawn to close my eyes and be so emotionally affected by the culmination of instruments not to mention a voice that seems to echo a soul being haunted by itself. arms up, stalk! songs seems to begin as a snowflake and drives itself into an avalanche. i cannot explain it but, i get this lump in my throat when i listen to your music."
"As the lights dim, Arms Up, Stalk! walk in one by one amidst a swirl of samples and noise. Images of Moscow freeways circa 1961 and commuters trapped in hyperspace glow above the stage. Singer/guitarist Mika Tarkela has a beautiful, icy voice; Matthew Beighley (on seven instruments) looks like a mad scientist with an arsenal of keyboards and samplers; Kristian Tarkela is a powerful drummer and Nikolas Ahlstam plays a furious lead guitar. The songs are stunning; a tricked-out version of 'Blue Jay Way' took me well into the second chorus to figure out what I was listening to, clever boys! Smart yet passionate, imaginative but not self indulgent music, with a touch of Radiohead and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. And only their second show! (BZ)" - L.A.
