Daniel Küffer was born on 12. August 1966 into a family dedicated to music. After studying in Los Angeles and Berne, he graduated from the Swiss Jazz School in 1993 with merits. He works as composer, saxophonist and band leader in a broad number of different projects ranging from his Jazz quartet to composing for ballet companies to multimedia projects. Currently he is performing with Andreas Vollenweider and collaborating with Swiss painter Matthias Winkler in a project entitled ZusammenSpiel. Versatilty and energy are the words which describe Daniel Küffer best. He dedicates his playing to rhythmic and melodic precision however combined with deep emotion and a true feel for the beauty of many forms of musical expression.
