Strange Noises and Blues

About Me

Karl A. Brummer, who has worked with bands such as: Cove ; The Notorious Hi Fi Killers ; Rampant Rabbit , Hank Haint ; and Oliver Lunn , started off a dictaphone noise project, dabbling with blues and spoken word. Going under the guise of Belt Motel, Karl A. Brummer occasionally played live with Hank Haint and Oliver Lunn in the band. A cassette called Gavin L.P. was released in 2005.In the summer of 2006 Thomas House (of Charlottefield , Blue House , and The Feminists) recorded the Belt Motel EP Twenty Eight, which was released on Unlabel in 2007. Since then Karl A. Brummer has acquired a four track with no EQ*, which aids a fast and intuitive form of song writing, alongside an eclectic range of influences and instruments. After taking a long break from playing live, he is now working on a live sound.
There is also Karl A. Brummer soundtrack work. A couple of specimens can be seen on youtube: Alice in Wonderland (a film by Cecil M. Hepworth) ;and GT Hine 1903 (a film by Henry Myers).
*This is a preferred way of recording and is in not to be seen as akin to 'lo-fi' or 'no-fi'. They are something entirely different.
