About Me

Matt Jackson is a singer/songwriter who has been playing music professionally for 15 years. He has an unique soul/blues rock guitar style that evokes players as diverse as Zappa and Clapton. His musical influences span from Miles Davis to Tool via Jeff Lang and many in between. With a gritty emotive voice and thought provoking lyrics Matt takes his lead from the old school blues players, adding his own soul/funk feels and musical improvisations. He has played with musicians such as Thierry Fosmale and Dave Addes (from FATS), Paul Derricott (The Beautiful Girls) Ilan Kidron (The Pottbelleez, Glass) and many more...Matt delivers a high energy, highly impressive live show incorporating tight, tasty musicianship with free flowing, melodic jams. Able to perform in a variety of formats including solo, duo or rock trio, acoustic or electric, all original or mixed with well chosen, interpretive covers, Matt's live show is suitable for small bars through to large festivals.Matt currently has long-term residencies at Pontoon Bar in Darling Harbour and Deck 23 at Dee Why beach at which he demonstrates consistent professionalism.
