He has degree in Saxophone (Conservatory of Lecce-Italy) Musicological Sciences (University of Lecce) and Jazz Music (Conservatory of Lecce-Italy. He has improved his studies with Jean-Yves Formeau and Jerry Bergonzi. He has studied composition with Paolo Tortiglione. He has been solist in a lot of formations. Winner of various Composition's (2001) and execution's Concourses (Concorso Nazionale “Città Biancaâ€- best solist 2004). As a composer he has written the music for Documentary “San Giuseppe da Copertino†(for Wilder s.r.l., winner at "Salento Film Festival 2006"). As an Author he has written many Musicological essays (for example “From Saxophone to Rothphone: History and Analyses of an evolutionâ€-2004) published by “I FIATI†journal (Riverberi Sonori Editions-Rome). Actually he works as Performer, Artisan, Composer and Musicological Researcher publishing important essays for The Galpin Society Journal-Oxford. He wrote "Il Saxofono: la storia le fabbriche i modelli" for Eufonia Editions Pisogne (Bs) and other important books.www.raganato.com
