I had the distinct honor and priviledge to go to the inauguration this year to see President Barack Obama become our 44th president. Other than the birth of my two girls, this was the most moving, indescribable event of my life. I was so overwhelmed with pride and hope everyday in DC, looking at all of the people all there for one reason and purpose...to witness history. To see him walk down Pennsylvania Ave waving to the crowd, having him and Michelle acknowledge us (Yes Barack and Michelle spoke to us specifically), to hear him speak live, warmed my soul, and it was about 15 degrees out there. We walked for miles and waited for hours for one defining moment to hear them say "I now present to you President Barack Obama." His speech was moving, the concert was rocking and I was able to share it with millions of people. My best friend, her boyfriend and my mom (via phone) shared a moment that will forever change our lives as Americans. I fell in love with America and as Michelle Obama stated previously "For the first time in my lifetime I was truely proud of America."
