About Me
DOPE & UNSIGNED
Mak is a 20 year old hip hop artist from south central California. Born Kevin Gaspard in 1988 he comes from a family that loves music and he grew to have the same love for it himself. But K-mak decided to take it to a different level! In the 8th grade at Orville Wright middle school he began writing his own lyrics in class with a fellow class mate that had a similar interest. Years later in 2005-2006, his senior year in high school, he became inspired to start taking it more serious when he seen two of his best friends Christpher Sanford(C-san) Rapping and David Bonner (Uncle Dave) making beats. For a minute he sat around and didn’t express he wanted to do it with them, he was "shy" about it at first so Mak says. But then eventually he got on a track with another friend of his "young spiff" a.k.a Edward Long and the song was titled "I’m a G" ever since then it was history!

A lot of people ask “How did you get the name K-mak†some people even try to be funny and say “oh you think you a Mack huh?†His mother gave him the name Mack as a child.†A lot of moms out there call their kids things like pookie, booboo, pumpkin, pooka, all types of corny S*&T, my moms isn’t your average mom she is actually the “â€cool†mom. I have no idea why she ever called me that but that’s how I got the name†– K mak.
I spell it the way I do for no reason at all I just wanted it that way. A lot of people think its gang related but if you think about it it’s not at all. “Crips†spell words that end with “ck†with “CC†and bloods spell words with “ck†with “CK†and Mak is far from being a gang member although he knows more personally then he can even count.“My biggest influences are Jay-z, Snoop, Nas, Kanye, Ghostface, Dj Quik, Dr Dre, The Game, Outkast, Ice cube, T.I, Elzhi, Royce da 5’9, Joe Budden, lupe, Little brother, young jeezy, Dj toomp, and many many more. But you see my list is scattered with all different types of hip-hop. A lot of people stay in one type they mite listen to kanye, lupe, common and artist like that and don’t like rappers like t.i and jeezy. But me I like it all man whatever sounds good and you will hear it all in my music none of that fake one-sided “I’m a hip-hop head†shit here!â€
