Band History:Sonicbob started as my solo project about 3 years ago and I produced a lot of songs until I finally released the best of them on the debut album, '10 Ways To Kill A Lifetime' (which is on sale did I mention). This album was further refined to the four track demo '...Out of a Laser Gun'. I then spent my student loan on some new gear and greatly improved the recording quality and alas the new demo was possible, 'The Unknown Hero' Sonicbob began rehearsing as a band when I went to uni at Nottingham (Autumn 2007). However, the performing band soon disbanded. Sonicbob is now like a small army of session musicians! We declare war, so you can expect to be seeing some immense gigs coming your way real soon!

What People Say:

Oxfordshire MusicScene Magazine - Issue 2 (2008)

About Rob:I am Rob the creator of all things Sonicbob. Heres some info about me. Music is my life but for an unknown reason I am doing a music degree at Nottingham University. I am the most determined person I know. I hope to either be performing as a musician or writing music for a career. I also intend to write my own graphic novel. I believe in fate and karma. I look at what's not there rather than what is. I think about things way too much. My list of hates is: dogs, lots of people, responsibility, posh guys, routine, trains, work, money, opera, being bored, children, scary films with children in, technology that doesn't work. I love: girls, talking about life, listening to music, the feeling of achievement, art, graphic novels, action figures, my hair, my cat, rain, rollerblading. My Favourite Films: Donnie Darko, Batman Begins, Transformers, King Kong, Vanilla Sky, Layer Cake, American Beauty, Princess Mononoke, Pleasantville, Aladdin, Lion King, Sin City, Blade I & II, Equilibrium, The Nightmare Before Christmas
My Heroes: In no particular order: Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, Incubus, Deftones, Enter Shikari, Limp Bizkit, Blink 182, Sum 41, Idiot Pilot, Count Basie, Duran Duran, Mudvayne, Level 42, Courtney Pine, Jamiroquai, Foo Fighters, Michael Brecker, Armor For Sleep, Lostprophets, Hans Zimmer, Taking Back Sunday, 65 Days Of Static, Van Halen, Yes, NIN, Eighteen Visions, Jimmy Eat World, Oceansize, Fightstar, Danny Elfman, Miles Davis, Ravel, Feeder, The Used, The Enemy, Story Of The Year, Duke Ellington, Bloc Party, Biffy Clyro, Drowning Pool, Earth Wind & Fire, Korn, Pendulum, Debussy, Aphex Twin, Resphigi, A Perfect Circle, Will Smith, Gordon Goodwin Phat Band, FFAF, Mute Math, Less Than Jake, Sibelius, Tears For Fears, Parkway Drive, Pat Metheny, Alan Silvestri, Metallica, Hundred Reasons, AVA, The Alan Parsons Project, All That Remains, American Headcharge, Alexisonfire, Apocalyptica, Bernstein, Box Car Racer, Buddy Rich, Hot Water Music, Caliban, Capdown, Charles Mingus, Chris Squire, Dream Theater, The Cooper Temple Clause, Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim, Filter, Fenix TX, Finch, Bodyjar, Gershwin, Hellogoodbye, Herbie Hancock, The Hurt Process, Il Nino, James Taylor, Lemon Jelly, Linkin Park, Amon Tobin, The Mascara Story, Muse, NIN, Nickelback, Nirvana, The Offspring, Outkast, Plus 44, Placebo, The Police, Puddle Of Mudd.
