About Me

If you REALLY want to know about me, you've got to start from the beginning: Falken's Maze
"Girl, I do"

"Between the Devil and the deep blue sea..."
I feel I should put a real description of myself here now so I will try this out. For the most part, my friends and those I meet during frequent after-work gatherings and weekend activities would likely tell you that I have an off-beat sense of humor, that I lack the good sense not to say, do, or wear certain things in public, and that I'm a fun-loving character with an unquenchable thirst for alcohol (particularly beer). Along with the displays of poor taste and constant social flirtation, there are moments where my true self shows through. The illusion of confidence and self-assuredness I maintain comes owes to years of observation and perfection of technique. So in real life, as I have for years, I have been saving up to buy a home (going to be this Fall... no excuses; I will have my 10% down payment by then!), have been learning on the job and seeking a career opportunity, have been improving my wits and Math skills by studying Texas Hold'em Poker, have been writing blurbs here and there hoping to write a novel about my nightlife experiences, and have strongly contemplated becoming a videographer. I am unofficially a Historian among my peers due to my ability to recall most conversations I have been a part of without really trying to do so.My interest shift to whatever opportunity my present company affords. Currently, this means bicycling, hitting the beach, "geeking out", playing fantasy sports, taking weekend trips, going to Hardcore shows, shooting wedding videos, and gambling. In the past, I have gotten involved in wine-tasting, dog adoptions, playing and owning a Wii, drinking Belgian ales (Trapiste ales in particular), watching Professional Wrestling, (poorly) photographing street art, and hitting street festivals and fairs.I am wordy, considerate, downright mean, sarcastic, humorous, trust-worthy, flirtatious, and helpful (unless it is going to be MORE fun to be UNhelpful). Standard Gemini fair, I would say. Just skip the rest up to the part about "name me an Elvis song" somewhere down below.
I am going to try and be more sober at happy hour and maybe try to steer away from the center of attention . Maybe instead of meeting everyone , just saying hello to a few of my friends then trying to get to know just ONE or TWO new people. I want to try and learn more so I'll ask those questions and open up more questions to make a whole conversation. Why not? Then I can make my mind up whether these people are entirely boring or at least are good sources for information I can use later.Do me a favor... if you actually read this, leave me a comment with the name of an Elvis song in it. I would just like to know...
I am surrounded by ever-more interesting people. I don't mean that the more people I meet the more interesting they are; I mean I hang out with the kind of broad-minded people who have been around the world and keep trying new things. I like them, I want to be them, and it's paying off. Give me like 12 hours with you and I'm your new best friend.
I'll be your special friend but I refuse to be your ABC After-School Special friend.

My Interests

I like to not be bored and I have an incredibly short attention sp

I like to think of myself as an active participant in a social experiment and that one day I will use the insights I have gained to write a novel based on all of it. My hope is that everything will make sense at that point and we can all look back nervously and laugh (to borrow a direct quote from an old coworker who himself was invoking someone else). To that end I've been a people watcher, a rabble-rouser, a stick-in-the-mud, an eccentric, a mean-spirited joker, and the comic relief several times over.
I love to tell stories, I love to listen to stories, I love to be in other people's stories, I love other people to be parts of my stories, and above all I love to make those who aren't listening participate in the stories I am telling. Right now, I am living out those stories and recording them as I go. My friends are why; they are a better cast of characters than I could have dreamed up on my own.
