I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm just a simple, good-hearted girl trying to make her way in this world who still does not know exactly what she wants to do with her life. Above all else I believe in THE GOLDEN RULE and KARMA. I am a warm, caring, genuine, sensitive, funny (it just doesn't come out here) person and I want to find someone who will make me feel warm and fuzzy and excited all at the same time. I can be shy at first, until I feel comfortable with you. I like to go out sometimes, but I'm just as happy at home alone or with a special person. I love to laugh and I love to make other people laugh. I also love football (Go Raiders!), beer, my dog, movies (all Clint Eastwood movies), classic rock, smooth jazz, and some current music. In a "significant other," I like simple things like a note or a card, a quick phone call during the day or evening just to say "hi", or flowers every once in a while. I think that often actions speak louder than words and simple attentiveness and sweetness can also go a long way with me. In my opinion, if two people don't feel lucky to be with each other, they are wasting their time. I want to meet a man I will feel lucky to be with and who will feel the same way about me.

My Interests

My favorite thing in the world is hugging, loving, and generally spoiling my amazing niece and nephew. Music. Reading. Movies. My dog. The exquisite pain of getting a tattoo. I love learning, whether it's about people, things, places, anything really. Knowing that sometimes you have to go against the norms.....

I'd like to meet:

New friends are always good. I like to meet people and find out about how their experiences, both good and bad, have shaped their lives. Simply put, my philosophy on friends is that they always want the best for you. I want the best for my friends, and they want the best for me. If you don't want the best for me, you're probably not going to be my friend for long.I would like to meet people who are smart, yet don't think they know everything; funny, yet can be serious; honest, yet delicate; sensitive, yet don't take every little thing personally; caring, yet not smothering; sweet, yet naughty; stable, yet flexible; passionate, yet not dramatic; and above all else, people who believe that it's just not that hard to be nice. I like passion in my relationships, not drama. If you've read all of this and would like to know more about me or would like to see if we might be compatible, I would love to hear from you.

Music:

I love to sing in the car! I always have to have music on when I'm at work. I find the normal silence of an office to be deafening and distracting. Why don't good bands come to Richmond anymore??? As far as music goes, my first love is classic rock. Some folks I like are:The Doors (Jim Morrison was a god.) The Grateful Dead (Rest in peace Jerry. We miss you.) The Allman Brothers. Janis Joplin. Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young. Eric Clapton. The Beatles. Led Zeplin. The Rolling Stones. Little Feat. Sting. Doobie Brothers. Credence Clearwater Revival.System of a Down. Green Day. Gwen Stefani. Coldplay. The Killers. The White Stripes. Pink. NORAH JONES (ahhhhhh).More later...

Movies:

I love to watch movies, both in the theater and at home. I like comedy, romance, suspense, horror, and action, but sci-fi and fantasy don't do much for me.Some favorites are: The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, anything with Clint Eastwood, A Christmas Story ("You'll shoot your eye out."), any Friday the 13th, Pulp Fiction, Resevoir Dogs, American Treasure, You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seatle, Lethal Weapon, A Beautiful Mind, Matchstick Men, Mrs. Doubtfire, Sweet Home Alabama, Stir of Echos, The Grudge, The Forgotten. Sadly, anything with Pauly Shore - I've always had an unexplainable crush on him. Some favorite actors are: Clint Eastwood, Nicholas Cage, Kevin Spacey, John Travolta, Diane Lane, Meg Ryan, Sandra Bullock, Sean Penn, Kevin Bacon.Sooooo many more movies to name........

Television:

Yes, I watch entirely too much television. But there's so damn much interesting stuff on these days. Some favorite channels are: A & E, CNN, MSNBC, Discovery, History, The Learning Channel, Discovery Health, and HBO.Some favorite shows are: The Simpsons, Six Feet Under (did anybody else cry during Nate's funeral?), Sex and the City, Nip/Tuck, any of the Law and Orders, King of the Hill, Smallville, The Sopranos, Rock Star (the search for a new lead singer of INXS), Nanny 911 (though I'm not sure why, because it actually scares me), Investigative Reports, Cold Case Files, Biography (you just never know what to expect), American Justice, and the always the news. (I like to know what's going on.) M*A*S*H. Scooby Doo!

Books:

The books that are currently on my nightstand collecting dust and waiting to be read are: Why Do Men Have Nipples? Middlesex, Freakonomics, Under and Alone, How to Make Love Like a Porn Star, Pornified, You - The Owner's Manual.

Heroes:

Anyone who stands up for what is right in this world, and tells people who want to decide what is right FOR US to go screw themselves. Margaret Sanger - She started what is known today as Planned Parenthood. Martin Luther King Jr. - No explanation necessary. And anyone who donates blood or is a registered organ donor in the event of their death.
