BlockMonstaMuzik is an California based musical entity and organization started by West Oakland native rapper M.R. in 1999. M.R.(formerly Mr. Faulty of Oakland rap group sensation "Tha N.E.S.") began his label as a mainstay for his own group Tha N.E.S. which originally consisted of Mr. Faulty, Maja D, Sadistic(M.R.'s cousin).Smoke-L(M.R.'s sister), Taco Dell(Toxic), with the later editions of Sauce Tha Boss, and ShadyNate. With help from local label AmourMusic's Hermon Metcalf, The N.E.S. and BlockMonstaMuzik began to tour and created a constant buzz. M.R. & the BM family have performed with the likes of Too-$hort, 11-5, R.B.L,Mistah Fab, Chopper/Young City, Knocturnal, E-40, U.D.I, CharlieManhattan, Tha Luniz(Num & Yuk) The WestCoastDreamTeam, Pho-Balo & Mizary(ZooBlock) With affiliations including "The Acorn Mini-Mobb", BlackReign Records, SpotSmash Records & The Zippa Gorilla Family, respect was soon to follow. With a catalog of concerts including The SanDiego SportsArena, The Little Theater (Fairgrounds, Lakeport,Ca) The Fresno Convention Center, The Mateel (Humbolt), Mayfest(Willits,Ca), "The SRO" on Tropicana(LasVegas) & Tha Grill (Ukiah,Ca) and the Mendocino Fairground, amongst a host others, M.R. and the BlockMonsta staff has definitely put more stops on the map. Branching off from the N.E.S. in 2003 to work on his solo project, with the help of LayEmDown Records C.E.O's Calvin Woodard & Marcus Hines, M.R. released "It's Nothin" under his then current moniker of Mr. Faulty. The project included features from "Tha N.E.S.'s Smoke-L, Maja(Rawstin) & Sauce Tha Boss, Cougnut(R.I.P), R&b sensations Otis&Shug, MoMoney, Y.D., Frozin, and BlockMonsta artists Gweezy, Mac Elite, $krillie, and Maccnifuco. Then in 2004 after changing his moniker to M.R., with help from local Ukiah record label (CountryClub/StepAsideEnt.) frontman "Frozin" BlockMonstaMuzik released the heavily-anticipated "I'm A Monsta" Tha BM Comp. Which featured the entire B.M roster, The StepAside Ent camp Green R. Fieldz, Frozin, Skrillie(Formerly of BMMuzik) Pa$$eli & Mr J.O.E, Ace , Keish-Doe, Presidentae, & Many Others..With upcoming 2005 releases M.R. "Tha Package" , Vetti's "Thats The Biznezz" and mixtapes "M.R. presents..Shippin&Handlin" & "M.R. & Green R. Fieldz presents...Conspiracy Theory" BlockMonstaMuzik is well on its way to being a fixture in the Bay-Area's underground elite. So in the words of our own M.R. "I told these lil ni..$..s, we nothin to play wit, mo connected in tha "O" and tha "Sco" than the Bay Bridge".....With more connections and the addition of Kaspyr (Katie Burke V.P.), in 2005, BlockMonsta Muzik introduced the Bay-Area & Mendo to the "What It Do" concert series, thus far featuring such artists as 11/5, M.R., Jon Nash, Miz Dre, Mendo Green Team, Mistah Fab, Tito Bell, Kuzzos (Moss & Fly) Cellski, Killa Kiese, West Coast Dream Team, J.S.D., Magruff Mutley, N.C.S.
