About Me

I've been a drummer for 20 years now. I've been in and out of rock bands, wedding bands, disco bands till incredible luck brought me into the Merkin Music production company which led to "The little mermaid" TV show,"Bump in the night", a claymation TV show and presently "Sesame Street" where I've been for 14 years. Presently I can be seen with Long Island's Wonderous Stories and of course The Carl Roa Band. I was brought into the world of Carl Roa and Magic Elf by Joe Ferlito. We've released our first CD which is available at http://www.carlroa.com. We have been joined by Ethan Miexsell on bass. An eclectic mix of Progressive Rock, Jazz Fusion and Metal. The CD is receiving rave reviews and we've already started on material for the next one. a I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Carl Roa guitar, Ethan Meixsell bass, Ricky Martinez drums
Influences: Melvin Parker, Clyde Stubblefield and Jabo Starks all played for James Brown. They got me started and are still my favourites. Over the years I've learned from Phillyjoe Jones, Max Roach and the ferocious Art Blakey. My current favourites are Jeff Porcaro, Jim Keltner, Ringo Starr and the great Tony Williams.
Sounds Like: My approach changes depending on the work I'm doing. With the Carl Roa Band I try to blend Clyde Stubblefield with Neil Peart. With Wonderous Stories I tend to lean more towards Ringo Starr. There's more at http://www.wonderous-stories.com
