Can you feel the Hybrid Rainbow?

About Me

But then again, those circumstances...

The Fool on the planet.

My Interests

Sandwiches.

Finding that which I seek. And perhaps the opposite as well.

Walking during cool nights.

People.

Words.

Ideas.

I'd like to meet:

It was the end for me.

Music:

The Pillows are one of the greatest bands on the fucking planet.

Ummmm...other stuff I suppose...yea, like The Beatles. They own your soul.

Eve 6, no matter what other people say.

The Pixies, but of course.

Johnny Cash.

The D.

Sambo master is so amazing...most people just aren't ready.

Also, it would seem that lately I've been consistently enthralled by The Mountain Goats and The Dresden Dolls.

Movies:

I'm fond of my DVD collection.
Best films of 06:
Children of Men
Lady Vengeance
Brick
The Prestige
Army of Shadows
Great films:
My favorite film has been, and most likely will continue to be, John Woo’s The Killer. It endures, as far as I’m concerned.
However, seeing as there is an important distinction to be made between “favorite,” and “best,” let it now be said that Kurosawa’s Shichi-nin no Samurai is the best film anyone has ever made.
Film Noir is something to be revered in general.
The devastating musings on the nature of vengeance by Chanwook Park (otherwise known as Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Oldboy, and Lady Vengeance). As of this point, the man can do no wrong.
Serenity was everything I could have hoped for.
Just about anything by Takashi Miike.
Breathless dazzles me, while Jules and Jim destroys me.
Brick has convinced me that Rian Johnson has a bright future ahead of him.
Bogie is unparalleled. See The Maltese Falcon for details.
Dawn of the Dead is perhaps the greatest zombie film ever made (the 1979 original, although the remake was actually pretty good).
The Coen Brothers need to make movies with greater frequency.
All three films in the Evil Dead Trilogy.
Jet Li's best movie is Fist of Legend.
Jackie Chan's best movie is Drunken Master 2.
Not so great movies that I love anyway:
Short Circuit 2. Commando.
And any movie that has Sinbad in it is an instant goddamn classic.

Television:

Firefly. Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Angel. Anything else that Joss Whedon makes in the future.

Veronica Mars kicked ass.

Wonderfalls was a great show that got cancelled after 4 episodes.

House is great because of House.

But 24 is(was?) better.

Reality TV can burn in hell. Unless they pay me (which they do, currently).

Books:

Snail by Richard Miller

Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut

The Wind-up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami

Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk

Sock by Penn Jillette

No Exit by Jean Paul Sartre

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency by Douglas Adams

Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis

Heroes:

Joss Whedon, because he's a genius.

Penn & Teller, because they have the balls to tell the truth about lying.

Hideo Kojima, because he's brilliant.

Bruce Campbell, because he's Ash.

Adam West, because he's awesome.

and Gika, because he knows who and where he is.

My Blog

A traveling companion.

It wasn't far, it wasn't long. But I went.

A declarative measure.

"There was a four page gap"....And sometimes, that's far too wide.

A pirouette down empty streets.

What a disturbing series of non-events this has been!

A bit of a placeholder. But it fits.

Shit, man. Shit.

A storied song for a gray day.

What the hell is "secular onanism"?

A haunted place.

That's the intent, in any case.

A place to think.

"What a pack of foma!"

A question of positioning.

It's quiet, right now. Will I miss it, when it goes away?
