Project 48--Sounds of Unity-Kirtan

Well......what can be said of what we do during kirtan. Its more about what you do. We invite your Spirit, energy, and internal instruments to the meditative celebration we call kirtan. We are a bit unconventional in our approach to this ancient form of Bhakti Yoga. Using such tools as sitar, ukulele, Native American flute, crystal singing bowls, tambura, acoustic guitar, and the didgeridoo we express our inner fire! We pride ourselves in being fully acoustic. Never letting sound equipment stand between us and the experience....unless groups are too large otherwise. We bring our hearts desire up close and personal to your hearts desire. Forget the mess.... enjoy the moment. Sanskrit....English...Hebrew... whatever gets the job done! The job? you wonder.......is to feel the Unity and Love between brother and sister...to express light in what seems to be a darkened world. Kirtan is nothing more than a gathering of Spirits......who make kirtan what it is......and what it is changes.....as everything changes... We understand that all is in the moment....and that project 48 is not the controller. We invite the Universe to express itself during every gathering that we promote. We are such small beings compared to the Divine......why complicate things withs rules, dogmas, and expectations. We accept what is! We are all instruments of the Divine. If we happen to meet one day.....KNOW that we are equals.....all adding to the beautiful mosiac some call life........we call it Love. Learning to tap into the creative flow that exists within-we are without walls. No rules, no stress, only a strong awareness of the possibilities latent inside those who are willing to listen. Becoming a vessel of love and unity is the goal of our sound. We are multi-cultured, a beautiful blend of different faiths - gathered for the purpose of harmony-in music and spirit. 48 represents Eternity. The eight being the only number with no end, and also the Egyptian symbol for eternity. Project symbolizes the fact that we are ever-evolving-never stagnant-always seeking new ways to externalize that which brings us joy...
