6 Music Video DVD
Each artist appearing on the compilation will record a song which would be radio ready.
This recording will become the track used in an HD Music Video.
a 2-4 Rockumentary/Rapumentary or Artist Video Profile
This opportunity is open to any of the following types of music: Rock, Metal, Rap, R&B, Christian Rap, Rock, & Gospel, Jazz, Country, and even Death Metal Polka.
We are conducting our final interviews at NebulaZone Recording 7790 Rockwell Drive,Suite 3, Philadelphia PA 19111. In order to have an interview you must message us here. Interview times are from 3pm-10pm and last about 30 minutes. You willneed some sort of recording, whether it be studio, garage or otherwise to give us an idea of what you sound like.
When and if your recording makes it to an A&R person at a record label, generally, you have 30 seconds of their time to impress them. They will listen to the first 30 Seconds of the first four tracks on your demo and if you don’t get into your hook, they probably will stop your recording and move to the next artist. This could be the most important 30 seconds of your life and the EPK we make for you would prepare you & your music for this very thing. Record Labels look for an album that is radio ready. They would rather sign you already having an album recorded so that they would only have to pay for duplication & distribution. This has held true for artists recorded at Nebula Zone Recording and this philosophy is based on past cases. We don't promise that you will be signed by a record label, but we can prepare you and your music to be looked at seriously by an A&R representative.
Why is an EPK so Important?
An EPK or Electronic Press Kit tells a record label, music publishing company, booking agent orclub what you are all about. This information should include a biography, photo, professionally recorded song, and high quality music video that efficiently captures your sound, look and creative concept. We've added "Rockumentary" & "Website" to our EPK line up. The 2-4 minute Rockumentary will profile you or your band's personality to give not only your fans, but a record company
What's in your EPK?
Do you have what you need to properly promote yourself? You might have photos & a recorded song along with a Biography but is it good enough to get signed? What will set you apart from the others? Our EPK would give you that opportunity. Chances are what you think is good enough, isn't but we have low cost solutions that would give you everything you would need to promote yourself. Each EPK will be unique but there will be three common elements: Recorded Song, Rockumentary & Music Video. It is all professionally produced and will be packaged on a DVD.

Recorded Song: Are you Radio
Ready? Most people don't know that most recordings are rejected by Radio
Stations and Record companies because they lack the quality required
by the industry. A properly recorded example of your composition is a
requirement that you must have. You won’t
be signed without it. You would record at NebulaZone Recording a fully
professional and well known studio.
HD Music Video DVD: record companies want to know what you
look like and how you perform because success in this business is 25% Talent,
75% Presentation.
< Rockumentary: We would create
a 2-4 minute "rockmentary" about you on tour EPK demo. We feel it's not enough to include a song & music
video on your EPK. We'd like to profile your or your band's personality
within the Rockumentary which we believe will give a unique perspective
that a record label, booking agent, club or your fans wouldn't see without
it.
"EPK": Your Electronic Press Kit 6 HD Music Videos on DVD! This unique opportunity is open to any Rap, R&B,Rock, Metal, Punk, Gospel, or Christian Rock Band. We will select only two of the entries for our Demo at this price. We are doing this at cost and it's a unique opportunity for anyone serious about their music. Your EPK will be produced professionally on DVD. You and/or your band will recieve copies of your EPK for your promotional needs. We will also be placing your videos online.
You must submit some sort of recording of your song. It doesn't have to be anything special, even a garage recording to give our engineers an idea of what you sound like.
"EPK": The process of making your Music Video DVD
All of the videos we do are done professionally through the three major steps of production: preproduction, production and post-production. The following would be an example of the entire production process, script to screen, studio to DVD:
-
Studio Recording
Step Outline
Location Scouting
Storyboarding
Releases & Waivers
Production Scheduling
The Video Shoot
Post Production
DVD Mastering
Release of the DVD
1. "EPK": Your Studio Recording
Your recording will be done at NebulaZone Recording, a professionally equipped and designed studio. Their list of gear can be found here . You will be recorded & mixed by owner and engineer Mark Montoro, who has done work at his studio for artists such as Scott Storch, The Roots, Major Figgaz,Nazz, Northbown, Sonny Rhodes, Johnny Clide Copeland, Jamaladean Katooma,, and many more. NebulaZone Recording will have you "Radio Ready" when you are done with your recording. Musician & beat composition is available but not part of the package. You should inquire about these additional services at the time of your interview.
2. "EPK":
Your Step Outline
A copy of your lyrics
on Word is required for this part of the preproduction.
Depending on the length and the speed of the beat in your
song, there will be 80-200 different
cuts on average for a four minute song. It is important
to create a list of shots and ideas you would like to see
in the video. You will be able to determine the Mise-en-scene,
things in the shots:, wardrobe, makeup, extras, props,
lcoation and many of the requirements for the shots you
wish to see. You should understand prior to committing
to doing your EPK that the basic package for shooting and
editing is for a one day shoot which comprises 10 hours
in the field and 5-10 hours preproduction. You are responsible
for all the additional costs for the Mise-en-scene as well
as permits, additional sets, lighting, insurance and other
unforseen expenses to be determined during the step outline.
Note: Any props such as firearms must be facimiles and if realweapons show up on the set, we have the right to shutdown the shoot immediately with no refund. We will not tolerate or accept any violent behavior by the artist or anyone the artist wishes to have on the set. You are responsible for anyone you bring on the shoot and we require only those people appearing or needed for the shoot be present. This isn't a hang out for your friends. If the artist(s) or artists entourage become disruptive during the shoot, we reserve the right to pull the plug on the music video with no refund. This may not be an issue but we need to make clear to anyone choosing to work with us that we are professional in our work and we expect nothing more from you and your support group. We will not ask twice.
3. "EPK": Location Scouting for your Video
After we have an idea to the requirements for the setting of your video. We will go out with you and look for an appropriate location to shoot your video. Public Settings such as shooting @ city hall, crowded center city Philadelphia Street, 30th Street Station or other types of location require permits and/or saftey crew, additional insurance or specialists. These are additional expenses not covered by the "Basic Production" costs. These costs must be paid for in advance by the artist and all permits plus additional costs associated with a shoot other than "Basic Production" must be paid. All the required information must be documented and checked one week in advance of the shoot. No exceptions. If you decide you require certain special circumstances, we would be happy to work with you to secure all necessary permits and other criteria for such a shoot, however, it's on a case by case basis and we will advise you on "realistic" goals. Your video isn't a million dollar production, and record labels pay a high cost of production.
4. "EPK": StoryBoards
Too many "Cheap" music videos are what they are-CHEAP.
5. "EPK":Shot List
A shot list is developed from the storyboards so we can put it into a production schedule
6. "EPK":Production Schedule
Now we need to schedule when, where and what we need to complete your shoot.
7. "EPK":Releases, Waivers & Permits
All releases, waivers, & permits must be in order if your shoot is going to happen
8. "EPK":The Video Shoot
Time to make it happen!
9. "EPK":Post Production
Time to put all the shots together
10. "EPK":DVD
Making the DVD
10. "EPK": Release & Distribution
Getting it out there.
