About Me

Early Life
Jordan Tremaine-Jin Hankins was born in Tupelo, Mississippi and was raised on Ida Street before his family moved to Verona, Mississippi when he was four years old. After his family split up he lived with his mother, sister, and brother. From preschool to the beginning of his high school year, Hankins was always pushed; shoved, bullied, told that he could never do anything. When Hankins was twelve, he witnessed his father purchasing studio equipment and his cousins becoming rap entertainers. He decided that's the career for him. Around the 7th grade, Hankins would have multiple seizures, so the chances of playing sports were slim to none. He spent his later life living with his family in the neighborhood known as South Acuz, a dangerous neighborhood turned peaceful. He graduated Shannon High School in May 2008 to only find in himself going into a new journey.
Early Career
Studying various influential rap albums, Lil Jin developed a strategy to become a rapper himself. At the age twelve, Lil Jin was recorded for the first time for a diss record. He shocked many people for his age, disrespecting a local male rapper seven years older than him. Jin attempted to record his first solo song, which he was kicked out the studio by his father for non-rapping skills. Lil Jin took a long time off the rap career to focus on junior high school. His 9th grade year, Jin saw his motivation and wrote his first song. Jin was never the type to say his feelings towards a person until his career began. His 10th grade, Lil Jin released "Monkey See, Monkey Do" which was a diss toward two people which turned into seven people. Jin was dissed back by the seven people and within that same week Jin released "Kill'em Softly (Let It Go)". Lil Jin claimed the Prince of Mississippi and later went on to recorded his first solo album "Ruthless Aggression" which has yet to be released. Lil Jin's motivation had left, so he quit rap, or that's what he thought. Jin's motivation came back and it was alive and well. Lil Jin recorded his second solo album "2nd Time Around", which has also yet to be released.
Rise To Fame
Lil Jin was originally signed as an artist to his father's record label Spoonful Productionz, but was later to run the label. In 2006, Jin met Brittany Evans and founded B.S.G.A. (Bisexual Gay Association). Lil Jin quickly confirmed on a satellite radio station, WRAN that he was not gay or bisexual but quoted “I just feel like you shouldn't judge anybody because of what race they are or what sexual orientation they are. Treat people how you would want to be treated." Gaining the bisexual audience, Lil Jin became a leader. In 2007, Jin was dissed by 3 childhood friends. On "The Comeback 2K7(Reloaded)" Jin showed a side that no one has ever seen when he recorded "10 Snitches Diss", dissing ten rappers under three minutes. Out of ten rappers one responded back with a harsh diss taking many shots at not only Lil Jin but Jin's girlfriend at the time. Two other rappers joined at taking shots at Jin. October 31, 2007, Lil Jin released the most memorable, foul, and hilarious cd in Mississippi Rap/Hip Hop history titled "Halloween Massacre". In November of 2007, Jin's motivation left and caused Lil Jin to change the way he handle situations. Jin was dissed by a former label mate that started his own label. Jin responded back with "Look in the Mirror" which caused an uproar in the Northern Mississippi area. Lil Jin met Vietnamese rap artist Nah to record "Hip Hop Is Here" and learned that "Fans love positive music." Even though Lil Jin and his ex-girlfriend have failed to settle differences, Lil Jin still releases positive songs from the past where he mentions her motivation to him. Lil Jin is attempting to take a new route, which consists of: recording positive songs, squashing beefs with some people, and not holding back or regretting anything he says. From memories as a child, leading up to now he uses revenge as a factor to make songs in the studio. The thoughts of being bullied, his own family telling him he will not make it as a rapper, & the death of his friends, Cory Fowler and Terry Sykes, will keep the undisputed Prince Of Mississippi in the game for long time.
