I like computer gaming, but not so much of it that you miss everything else in life. I like old rifles, I've a small collection, they're just little tidbits of history. I LOVE the ocean, and if the sunburn wouldn't kill me, I'd spend a little time every day jumping into it. I also like beers. No, I'm not a flailing lunatic drunkard who just wants to get sloshed every second of his life. I like to go to a different country, sit with the locals, and have a pint while making friends.
I'm not locked down to any one genre. I like a song, if it appeals to me, no matter the genre. I do have my favorites though. George Strait, Vincente Fernandez, Pink Floyd, and Metallica are beyond reproach. What I listen to depends on the mood. Depending on what I feel like, you could come over and find me listening to Beethoven as I try to cook dinner(and burn it), or you'll hear me screeching a Dio song in the shower, or you could find me blaring techno music as I get dressed to venture to my favorite clubbing spot in Germany.
Movies!! I'd rather watch a movie I like for the 1000th time, than watch any of these dumb ass reality show's you see flooded on the screen these days. Favorites, I've so many, but I'll name a few. Casablanca - Bogey and Bergman, there's so much to this movie I don't think I'll ever do without it. It also helps that I love to fall asleep to "As time goes by". Caveman - Starring Ringo Starr, John Matusak. This movie is hilarious, and you've gotta have laughs in life. Zug Zug!! Airplane - If you haven't seen this one, slap yourself! It's one of the best comedies ever made! Lord of the Rings - I think I was born reading these books, and the movies were excellent! If a movie has sword fighting, elves, and bearded dwarves, it's already got a plus in my book!
I don't watch much television these days. Too many bullshit reality show's, and police or law drama's. It's all been downhill since MASH went off the air.
Michael Crichton and R.A. Salvatore are my two favorites. I prefer to read fantasy novels, since I see time spent reading as time to be spent dreaming. I've read some Stephen King and liked them, but I don't feel a need to read too much horror, if I want to see the real thing, I just have to look outside over here. Crichton puts so much detail, so much study into his books, that every one of his that I've read has drawn me in, and I hate putting them down once I'm hooked. Of course I must pay homage by mentioning Tolkien. I grew up on the Hobbit, LOTR trilogy, and the Simarillon. Robert Jordan also gets good reviews from me.
DAD, I could go on for an hour about my father, he's truely one hell of a man. Ask me about him and I'll tell ya. My little cousin Jessica. She lives with more pain than you or I could ever understand, and she does it on a daily basis, and she always meets me with a smile and a hug. You and I always seem to forget how good we really have it.
