Liz Duenas' dad was the drummer for The Iguanas, a band from Mexico that Lou Adler had brought over from Mexico in the 60's - her father was a major musical influence in her life. She played drums at 9 years old and started writing songs on the piano when she was 10 years old and started shows in her garage charging a quarter in a shoe box for admission with her neighborhood friends. 1st rock band at 17, but left music for couple years because mother wanted her to have a stable life working in the office after seeing her dad struggle with alcoholism. One day in the office, a thought came to her that she should be writing and performing. Liz bought her 1st keyboard and started writing songs again. A d.j. whos name was on a record she had spun at a dance club and she went up to him and asked "how do u make music? He then introduced her to rappers who were looking for a girl to sing the hook and that was when she stepped in her first studio. While performing she was approached by record label to record as a solo artist.... and there it began. .....in 1995 LIZZ released 1st dance single called "Don't Make Me Wait" produced by Martin Rodriguez of Stop and Ron Hernandez on Street Pride/Solar-Hines Records. Next dance single was produced by D.J. A.J. Mora and Powertools D.J. Richard Humpty Vission called "COMA"......with 4 raw dancers, performed with rappers like Kid Frost, Lighter Shade of Brown...performed with Lina Santiago, Miranda and many others. Liz did several voice-overs for D.J. Enrie, Powertools and Groovy Wednesdays. Liz wanted to start playing with bands and started writing with different guitar players. Mark from Dramarama helped and guided her writing her first rock songs, then Sean Cruse (Dr. Dre, Eminem) and Andrew Jaimez. In 1998 found ska/punk band "Sidewalk" from Huntington Park. Although approached by Warner Bros. immediately within months, band had a fall out and it was back to square one. (Quiero Tu Amor song on my profile) music was written by Sidewalk, lyrics/melodies by Leticia Ascencio who was a big part in the beginning my music career before dance music.....this version was later produced by John Avila (Oingo Boingo) in 2007 with different musicians. Kevin Ramos (Sidewalk/Holly Boots) on bass, Don Eisentraut (Cranial Vault) guitar and Jimmy D'Anda (Bullet Boys) on drums. In 2001 Liz took a 5 year break to recreate the path she was living and prays to stay on it....and now sings/screams in rock band "DOWNSHOVE". "DOWNSHOVE" has helped her to develop perform again after hiatus. She is writing, producing and performing again."Never give up...."rest if you must", but Never Quit.""I love electronic, I will always love dance music". I am making more dance music along with band "Downshove" and electronic ballads with piano. Stay tuned. GOD IS FIRST BEFORE EVERYTHING AND AAAALLL OF MY STRENGTH, I should have died, but I didn't. There is a better plan.
