About Me
Credits: So I decided to make this page as a tribute to THE best rock band ever, VAN HALEN! I have always liked VH from almost as far back as I can remember. When I was in grade school, I had a babysitter named Charles (yes, he was a guy) and he played "Happy Trails" over and over again for me because I thought David Lee Roth saying "bom-ba-dee-da" was hilarious. Next I remember seeing the "Hot for Teacher" video and even being 8 years old thought, "This band rocks...and the guy walking across the tables is cute. I will marry HIM when I grow up". LOL...Well, I obviously did not marry Eddie Van Halen, but as fate would have it, I married someone who pretty much reintroduced me to VH. (As I went through my preteen and teen years, VH unfortunately fell to the wayside, but let's not go there) Anyways, my husband is a HUGE fan. He got me back into Van Halen and luckily the stars aligned and I was able to see them live in Worcester, MA 6/19/04, 18th row with my hubby! I even bought him (ok, us!)for a wedding gift a 100% authentic autographed record of 5150, signed by all the guys in a beautiful frame. (I would show a picture, but we recently moved and it is still wrapped up for safe keeping) Now, I bet you may be wondering...do I prefer the Roth era or the Sammy era? There are alot of VH fans who feel strongly one way or the other. Let me say this, I have seen Sammy a few times with the Wabo's and he is fantastic! I love Sammy. I probably stayed about 15 minutes to see DLR. He did not impress me. Now hold .. you get all mad. I appreciate and enjoy both era's of VH. Do I listen to Sammy's solo stuff? Yes. Do I listen to DLR solo stuff? Some. Would I go see a DLR show? No probably not. Will I go see VH with DLR? You bet your ass I will. Do you see where I am coming from here? Basically, I like ALL VH, no matter who is in the band. Hell, I even like Gary Cherone era! Is Eddie on guitar? Uh huh. Big Al on drums? Yup. Then me likey. Me likey ALOT!
