My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Send Message Add to Favorites Add to Friendsgeneral interests Going to West Virginia, making a ruckus occasionally, sitting on mountain tops, fighting social injustice, good table manners, Cointreau, shoving receipts into my wallet, daydreaming, baseball games, navelgazing, coming up with eleaborate plans to save the world, sitting on the roof, Rhode Island, cigarettes, making faces at people on the sidewalk, public transportation, and cole slaw.

movies Clockwork Orange, Magnolia, Wet Hot American Summer, Fargo, Pink Flamingos, Desperate Living, Hable Con Ella, Morvern Callar, Fish Called Wanda, Young Frankenstein, Amelie, Princess Bride, Virgin Suicides, Dr. Strangelove.

booksOh lord. Urban planning and social history books, Eudora Welty, Flannery O'Connor, Camile Paglia, Raymond Carver, Douglas Coupland, David Foster Wallace, Michael Chabon, Douglas Adams, Dave Eggers, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Albert Camus, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Oscar Wilde, Jane Austen, Douglas Adams, Kurt Vonnegut, and if you don't slap me I'll just keep going. I'm sort of a freak for text, it's so much more portable than TV.

tv shows Most of them anymore come to me on DVD, but let's say these are pretty quality: Little Britain, The Office, Sex and the City, Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, stuff like that. I like my TV characters to either be cartoons or extremely cartoonish.

heroes Most definitely not Margaret Thatcher. More likely: Jesco White, Belle Boyd, Karl Marx, Johnny Cash, Billie Holiday, Eudora Welty, Stevens T. Mason, Jane Jacobs, saucy women everywhere, and whoever the first Michigander to show people where he was from by pointing at his hand was.

Takes notes in pencil, drives too fast, climbs trees, doodles in the margins, laughs at everything, stares at old buildings, loves maps, wakes up early, goes to bed too late, shambles after the mad ones, eats popcorn, wears brightly colored shirts, drinks beer, always has a pen, takes photos of road signs, prefers Coke to Pepsi, grew up on a farm, loves the city, avoids Short Pump, is legendarily clumsy.
