About Me

i grew up in a quiet and unassuming corner of the third world , still i'm ethnically challenged . i love the city , though los angeles ain't exactly the template . i like new york , and i like san francisco . i hate hate hate suburbia , sprawl , SUVs , indoor malls , vast parking lots , 20 ft front yards , asphalt shingles and windows flush with the exterior . i love music , perhaps like no one you know . every now and then i futz about with garage band . i think a lot like a green , but i vote democrat . i like art . sometimes i'll doodle with eyes closed and see what i can salvage with eyes open . i like thrift stores . i like coffee houses (but i'm off caffeine now) . i like reading . i like color and i like abstract images , and sometimes i make some .
i do empathy . i don't do religion . i like it every four years when the world cup comes around . i'm for thinking , feeling , loving . i don't do belief . i like yoga - the body likes it when the mind shuts up . i like food . i love bread , cheese , olive oil . i like technology . i like macs . i like the web . i like rain , i like green . i have it in my head that i want to adopt an ethiopian child , or something . i don't mind cold . i think more clearly after 4 . i like evenings ... my background is in architecture . the last five years i've been working mostly on low income housing - perhaps i like to feel useful , these days (what a difference a decade makes) .

the great ZFS controversy

Sneeringly implying that HFS+ is sufficient. Sure, HFS+ administration is simple, but it's also inflexible. It locks you into what I call the "big floppy" model of storage. This only gets more and mor...
