I am a writer, singer of original and traditional music, actor, teacher, guitarist and hammered dulcimer player. Four solo albums so far, in order from youngest and most idealistic to older and still idealistic: "First Warm Wind" "Second Nature" and "Outside Eden," all on Waterbug Records, and "The Only Word," on Redwing. Also the duet album "Drawn From the Well" with my sometime duo partner, the wonderful Kate MacLeod. Making plans for future projects now.
I've worked with a lot of great people over the years, singing, and playing live and on recordings with David Bromberg, Bohola, the David Munnelly Band, Niamh Parsons, Jim Tullio, Tom Dundee, Dennis Cahill, Michael Smith, Andrew Calhoun, and many others.
It's a great life.
I was born when my parents were working on the "Gumby" show, probably sealing my fate as a performer, and certainly making green the central color of my wardrobe. My mother was Gumby's first voice, my father was the first art director and invented Pokey.
I've toured in Europe with Kate, in Australia with Bohola, in Ireland, England, and Scotland with Andrew Calhoun, and in the U.S. with lots of people.
Recently I heard the group "Magpie" performing one of my songs.
