About Me

My name is Amanda but I prefer Mandy or Manda. I'm a Senior at Rex Putnam High School. I absolutely love volleyball and track. I suck at track but it's still fun. My events are the 100m, 200m and pole vault. In volleyball I have represented the state of Oregon in a national tournament. My life revolves around volleyball and it is my top priority. I love watching action sports on TV. Shaun White is pretty much god to me. I plan on being a dental hygienist when I get older. I love learning things about the human body and i love learning about chemistry and all most other types of sciences because I'm a nerd like that. Makes me feel smarter than I really am. I play the flute in Putnam's Wind Ensemble and in Pep Band (and unfortunately in marching band too). I also am trying to learn to play electric bass but failing miserably due to lack of time. I'm quiet and slow to warm up to people. Mostly just because I suck at starting conversations with people until I know them well. I've been told I'm funny when around people I know. I love to make a dork out of myself and usually will go out of my way to make someone laugh. I'm slow to trust and slow to forgive. I can hold a grudge forever so don't give me a reason to. I don't judge people and I try to be nice to everyone, but when put in awkward situations I can be a bitch. I love to people watch and observe people before approaching them. I'm very opinionated, even if I don't always jump at a chance to state my opinions. I'm very upfront and always state my mind when I feel necessary. I believe in having a life that's an open book to all. If there's anything else you want to know, don't hesitate to ask. ^_^

My Interests

My interests are: music, VOLLEYBALL, occasionally jogging, track (pole vault!), hanging out with friends, watching TV, Shaun White, watching Shaun White on TV ^_^, surfing the internet, gaiaonline.com (my sn is vbtweety13), foamy(illwillpress.com), my flute and my electric bass (even though i rarely touch my electric bass), tom welling(soooo hott!!!), series of unfortunate events, action sports, guys in tight pants *drool*, shirtless guys(XD)...guys in general lol

I'd like to meet:

ELVIS PRESLEY!!!!! (he's not really dead XD) Misty May and Kerri Walsh...the best volleyball players on the face of the earth! And I would also LOVE to meet Shaun White again! Another person I'd like to meet would be Avril Lavigne! She's like my idol!

Music:

I listen to pretty much everything but classical...i love rock, disco, jazz, rap, everything... Some of my favorite bands are: green day, blink 182, AC/DC, Simple Plan, Panic! at the Disco, Fall out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Cobra Starship, the Beatles, Aerosmith, Nickelback, Black Eyed Peas,Jonas Brothers, Aly & AJ, the BeeGees, Stray Cats, Beach Boys.... Some of my favorite artists are: Elvis!, Fergie, Benny Goodman, Jesse Mccartney, Shaggy, Santana, James Blunt, Hilary Duff, Kelly Clarkson, Chris Brown, Usher...and my absolute favorite: Avril Lavigne! ^_^

Movies:

I like mostly comedy movies...anything scary and i wont sleep for weeks... my favorite movies are: Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail, Blazing Saddles, Happy Gilmore, Anger Management, Talledega Nights!!! Pretty much anything with either Will Ferrel or Adam Sandler...

Television:

Some of my favorite Show are: Beauty and the Geek, Gilmore Girls, Heroes!, Smallville, Moonlight, American Idol, Dancing With the Stars(Apolo Anton Ohno = <3) and Big Brother! ^_^ My favorite actors/male celebs are: Milo Ventimiglia(of heroes)<3 and Tom Welling! <3 <3 i also love Apolo Anton Ohno, olympic speed skating gold medalist and also a dancing with the stars champion! ^_^ <3 <3 <3 and but of course, SHAUN WHITE!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

Books:

The Series of Unfortunate Events, anything by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes (she writes awesome vampire books), and anything by Louis Sachar (author of Holes...he's hilarious!)...pretty much anything humorous or that has vampires in it i will read...i dont like books that are overly descriptive as they tend to lose my interest...i like books that just tell a story...i also like books that leave you kinda guessing in the beginning and confused but i dont like books that end and leave you hanging... My current list of books to read includes: -The Twilight series (gotta figure out what the hype is all about!!!) -Catcher in the Rye

Heroes:

My heroes include: -Misty May and Kerri Walsh (world champion beach volleyball players)
-Shaun White (Olympic Gold Medalist in Men's Snowboard Halfpipe) he's like god to me...he's hysterical...and i very much envy how comfortable he is with himself and how open he is to others...
-Avril Lavigne...she may come across as a bit of a punk but shes involved in lots of charities and i think her music is very feminist and empowering towards women...its also about being yourself and not letting other people change who you are and who you want to be...i think her music, despite its punk-appearance, often displays a positive message
