H.I.M. <[i>His Infernal Majesty] have realeased six full length albums since the year 1997. Beginning with Greatest Lovesongs, Vol. 666, as a heavy and dark album, both capturing and haunting. HIM later released Razorblade Romance in early 2000. 'Razorblade' contained 'soft' tracks such as Join Me (in Death) and One Last Time. This album being so spectacular, it captured the attention of, skater and sooner [close] band friend, Bam Margera. Margera promoted HIM in the states. This was beneficial for the group, who sooner became known, as HER in the U.S. After a metamorph, HIM (no longer considered 'HER' in the U.S.) released Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights, the most 'mellow' from their albums. Deep Shadows only contained soft, somewhat varied, melodic tracks such as Heartache Every Moment, Close to the Flame, and Beautiful. The album was a change towards the sound HIM was known for. Bassist, Mige Amour, claimed "This is not real metal," states Ville Valo in an EPK. Seemingly, the band avoids to perform a track from Deep Shadows in 'today's' shows. HIM attempted to regain the tone from the previous albums, despite Deep Shadows. Two years sooner HIM released Love Metal. 'Love Metal' being the band's self claimed genre to stop the immediate "which genre" questions. Through their self claimed genre, their latest album's title was named Love Metal, which made a tremendous comeback from their previous album. Here, their tune, became more vicious, something Deep Shadows lacked. Love Metal opens with the song Buried Alive by Love being a 'hard-track.' Love Metal satisfied the entire band, most importantly, the fans and world. With Love Metal, HIM gained more fame. The band's worldwide attention strengthened HIM's music. In 2005 HIM released their worldwide 'debut' album. Dark Light gained media attention. This album contained HIM's greatest single, [Rip Out the] Wings of a Butterfly. This track followed along with Killing Loneliness are 'most popular' gaining recognition. Following Dark Light, HIM released 2007's Venus Doom. This album is the most heaviest album [from HIM] to date. Passion's Killing Floor and Bleed Well are noticiably [original] HIM. But other songs, Venus Doom and Song or Suicide, were more conversions. Sleepwalking Past Hope, being the longest song recorded by HIM [10:02] also "lifted eyebrows" of many HIM fans.
