Christoph Bösch

life's too short to play bad music

About Me

Swiss flutist Christoph Bösch went through the full program of musical training at the Music Academy of the city of Basel, in the class of Felix Manz.Further stimulus in his training came from flutists Aurèle Nicolet, Robert Winn, and William Bennett. Christoph Bösch’s continual hunger for the new, along with his intensive contact with conductor Jürg Henneberger, led to their co-founding in 1998 of the Ensemble Phoenix Basel, in which Bösch is the solo flutist. He enjoys the challenges of the full range of its projects – from large-scale music-theater productions, to solo work on everything from piccolo to bass flute, and occasional performances on exotic wind instruments.Besides this specialization in new music, Christoph Bösch is in demand as a chamber-music partner and soloist (in the duo B&B with percussionist Daniel Buess, with TransitCircle NY, with European Soloists Ensemble, and many others), as a beer-brewer, and as a lover of life.Through his travels around the world, with his flute under his arm, Christoph Bösch tries to remain young.
