About Me
..Hey, my name is David Andrew Meyer, everyone just calls me Dave and others call me Davey Drew, or Davey Crockett. I am 19, graduated for Northwest High School in '07.Since then my life has taken ups and downs, I went to college and got drunk a little too much, so now I am at home. I worked for 8 or 9 months at my old high school job and realized that I need to start moving on and figuring out what I want to do with my life.After the college experience, I realized that while trying to find a major I didn't really want to have a career in any major that I was interested in, because they all were desk jobs. I love to move around and see new places, but a desk job and the American dream of a wife and kids and house isn't really what I am looking for. I still want to be free so I can experience life from many angles and live my life.I made a big mistake going to college, I treated it like High School instead of a 40 hour a week job and fucked off more than I should have. Even though that was bad something good came out of it, I cured myself of Alcohol and Depression after one night of a little too much drinking.I realized that there is more to college than this stereotype of drinking, parties, and treating everyone like shit. I realized how much knowledge I was missing out on, and how many down to earth people that shared the same views as me I could have been meeting. I think it has been a good learning experience for me.I have always like public service jobs(policeman, fireman, teachers, etc.) and after knowing that I didn't want to have a normal desk job. I looked toward something that was more on the go, traveling, seeing new places and new people while serving my country. The Military. My parents don't really approve me going into it, but I know that this is what I want to do.Aircraft have always amazed me, from playing WW2 Flight Simulator games as a teenager and watching the History channel and Military channel, I had the passion to fly, to break the speed of sound.My focus now is to go through the NROTC program at a University(preferably Mizzou) and then join the Navy as an NFO(Naval Flight Officer). It takes a 4 year degree and leadership training while studying for the degree in college. I can't wait.
