About Me

..
Layout by: ..Andy’s musical career started at the tender age of 12 when he joined the English National Opera as a street urchin in “La Boheme”. Typecasting at such a young age! He went on to complete three seasons. He joined his first band at fourteen and has over the years played in many line ups covering a wide range of styles from Rock to West Coast, Acoustic to Jazz, Gospel to Soul. For a number of years he fronted the Rock Band “Shot in the Dark” regulars on the London pub/club scene, for whom he was a principal songwriter and with whom he recorded the album “Someone’s Started Shouting” A resulting writing partnership led to a publishing contract with Leo song.In the late 90’s Andy wrote the musical “Streets Paved with Gold”. The show follows the fortunes of two bands at different ends of the music business and tells the love story that ties them together. Having it's professional premier in 1998 the show has been well received by audiences and critics alike. These days you'll most likely find him playing acoustic gigs around London on his own. A survivor, Andy has undoubtedly been around the block and the honesty and humour he brings to his performances add a tangible intimacy to his gigs.At the other extreme he also enjoys fronting "The Impossible Groovers" a nine piece soul band playing fund raisers and corporate events. He also considers it a privilege to lead the worship at Christ Church Cockfosters and Northern Lights.Andy is married with two kids and lives in North London.CURRENTLY WORKING ON A NEW ALBUM "SONGS FROM THE JOURNEY" WATCH THIS SPACE...

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Couple of demos of songs destined for the new album along with "Shine On" a Christmas song written with Ralph Stringer and recorded and produced by the unfeasibly talented Roger Benou at Monroe Productions in Holloway Road sadly now closed. BV's are by Nicky Hooke.
Influences: Influences would be a pretty mixed bag. The Who, Deacon Blue, Nat King Cole, James Taylor, The Eagles. Had a fairly major moment seeing Springstein live early on and would say that the E Street Band are the greatest band ever! Damien Rice and Jon Allen float my boat at the moment and Paul Carrack would be right up there as well
Sounds Like: Phil Collins meets Bruce Springsteen in seedy North London alley...
Record Label: Unsigned
