Now for a real treat and Wind of Change, the track that gave the band their name, this sent a tingle down my spine as the ambience of the keyboards were complimented by the guitar. The final number of this first set was Temptress Within and one of their own compositions. It is clear to see when you hear this number how influenced the guys are by Hawkwind. I could go as far as to say, Hawkwind themselves would have been proud of this number. Listening to Einstein belongs to Wind of Change, written by John ..s explained the drummer. What a fabulous piece this was and for me the best of the night, a combination of guitars drums keys and wonderful synth, marvellous stuff. If you want to see something different and unique I would recommend them.

Space rock has never had such a wonderful diversity of acts, yet high on the list of quality bands are Wind of Change, a five piece outfit, quite different from anything else out there. Even though their set was cut prematurely short they sure had the crowd jumping and set a high standard for the bands following them to live up too. They are joined on stage by ex-Hawkwind bassist Alan Davey to play the final number, Universal Light, a brilliant number that emphasized not just the talent of the band, but exactly what they are all about. They even gave away free CD’s after the show. A thoroughly enjoyable set by Wind of Change, in my view, one of the best bands over the weekend and I look forward to seeing them again on the festival circuit.

We wandered about, enjoying the sunshine and meeting up with our fellow hairy-arsed Hawkwind fans, ate lunch and then went back to stage 2 to catch Wind of Change at 2.30pm. They are led by John W.Pattison aka Hawklord of Shields and the author of 'A Love Affair with Cancer'. He and his band were great, the overall sound being a duel between John's spacey keyboards and guitarist Robin's NWOBHM / ZZ Top / Zakk Wylde leanings. We clamoured for one of their free CD's afterwards, and for my money they were one of the best bands I saw over the entire weekend

John was giving it large on the Theremin and you don't see that every day! There are clear comparisons of a sort with Prognosis as their own stuff is very prog rock based, meant I had at last listened to something decent.
Set two and more of the same, self penned tracks, “10 seconds are foreverâ€, “Paranoid Hysteria†with its possible influences of Metallica, “Doctor Doctor†a tribute to Dr. Who complete with theme tune, “Cybernaut Control†and the instrumental Hawkwind track “Wind of Change†transmogrified into a much more adventurous track with lyrics and not the ambient instrumental from “Hall of the Mountain Grillâ€
Next was “Listening to Einstein†which in my opinion was the best track of the gig with some superb lead guitar playing.

Songs like 'Listening to Einstein', a ballad penned by the band, is fabulous. I could buy it, and play it all day; 'Wind of Change' are definitely a band that I'd see again....
