It was started back then, a band with punk-rock idealism touched by some melodic tunes named The Gagals, with Dito(as the bassist), Hamzah(as the guitar-vocalist), and Reza(as the drummer). The Gagals keeps takin' cover of Rancid, Bad Religion, NOFX, and some other similar band. Continuous changes on the deck were held to form the most comfortable position, until Dito holds his guitar while the bass and vocal are still unequipped.Our friends, Oggy and Goya accept our offer to fill those positions. Time goes by and we entered a band class-meeting attended by our school. After a few months, we were confronted by some mis-chemistry with Oggy and Goya, so they signed out the band and forms another band named We and the Stupid Fairytooth.Finally, in the end of the year, we invited our friends, Haikal and Dimas to do some stuff with our band, and eventually Haikal joined the band for lecturing our mic while Dimas was slapping the bass. They became parts of The Gagals.Being bored with our name, on the early of 2006, we started to think for another title. After we spent some months, we got Torpedoest for our new band name. We got the name from Pat Torpey (ex-drummer Mr. Big), while Reza was visiting the drum clinic in Jakarta.
