Ultra Maverick Oscillator is a Space Rock band from high in the Victorian Alpine Alps. Bringing you a musical experience that is sometimes psychedelic, sometimes heavy but always rocking!
Feel free to unwind to our songs, they quite often make a good soundtrack to your lava lamp viewing experience or whilst lying down looking up at the glow in the dark stars on your ceiling with the lights turned out.
The band was inaugurated when Randy & Elton decided to have a jam in the Wandi Maze Café one night, nothing serious just Drums & Guitar. The session consisted of knocking out a few riffs, beats & funky jams while having some tasty beers. Luckily we recorded it all on an 8 track with 2 microphones as these free jams would become the final songs you hear on this Webpage. A few cheeky overdubs on the remaining tracks, not to fix mistakes but to add guitar 2, bass guitar & the quintessential space effects.
Just like '70s tape trading, (or as the Eagles would have done in the height of their addictions) Randy burned the songs onto a convenient “compact disc†to give to the Mysterious Captain Ultra who would be responsible for vocals on the tracks. This process has spawned several Ultra Maverick Oscillator standards, or good time classic songs that are an absolute boon to the Australasian Cosmological Psychedelic Fuzz Rock Circuit………
