She drove her parents crazy with the songs of “Annie” and “Sound of Music” perpetually emanating from the television set. Though the future would find her busy with academic pursuits as she attained University and College degrees, her love of singing was not forgotten.It was an accidental foray into the karaoke scene in her early 20s that she credits with rekindling her love of performing.Some friends have scoffed at her subsequent karaoke “addiction”, but it has proven to be an invaluable experience. While Camilla was content just to get up on stage and make people smile with her music, it wasn’t until later that she realized she had inadvertently honed skills like stage presence and performing in front of an audience. The cast of “colorful characters” she met at various karaoke venues also fed her love and appreciation of people and psychology.Open minded and accepting, Camilla loves travel and believes there is much to be learned from different people and places. She prides herself on the ability to melt into many different types of situations and environments. Her interests include animals, astrology, reading, writing, theatre and the outdoors. Her musical tastes are endless, but her strongest influences are Toronto based Singer/Pianist Emm Gryner, and the talented Tori Amos. She also enjoys Elton John, Cyndi Lauper, Janis Joplin, Ella Fitzgerald and music from various eras and cultures. Italian opera, classical, “Big Band” and Jazz are among a few of her favorites.Camilla is thrilled to be a member of the band 'Mango', now making its debut. www.myspace.com/themangoexperience
