These weekends, hosted by Martin Stephenson, are based on fun, informality, and the sharing of music, and are definate 'ego free' zones. Held at the stunning Friars Carse Hotel just outside Dumfries in the Scottish Borders, a picturesque location if ever there was one, the Guitar Weekends are usually held in the Spring, with the Song Writing Workshop in the summer months.Gary Dunn, guitarist with The Daintees, and Brian Younger, owner of The Guitar Shop in Newcastle are the tutors on the Guitar Weekend, whilst Scottish Troubador Scott MacDonald, and ex leader of the Chefs and Helen and the Horns, Helen McCookerybook joins Martin for the Song Writing Workshop.Prices for 2009 are just £260 which includes two nights accomadation in your own room, three course dinner each night, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and access to all tuition sessions.These weekends usually sell out so if you would like to make a booking, please get in touch, but be quick as places are limited!!Andrew Bailey
