About Me

Welcome! You are listening to my last project as a singer and songwriter: VilaNova, a partnership between DJ Erick Lee and I, with the collaboration of Marcel Zalcberg (musical arrangements and guitar), Rafael Ramos (harmonica and guitar), Flávio “Da Vila” Mônaco (percussion), Sam Bonin (vocals), Otávio Pimentel (guitar) and other musicians. Erick produced my songs, we blended some bossa-nova/trip-hop/samba/jazz/maracatu/côco/etc and recorded an album with 11 tracks at producer Leo Cunha's studio Casa1 in São Paulo between 2004 and 2006. VilaNova made me realize that music coming in second place would never be enough, I had to take a chance and embrace it for real, and that's what I've been doing for the past two years. I'm currently "under construction" and literally getting in the Groove thanks to my guru Levy, but in the meantime you can listen to some of the tunes that inspired me to follow my heart. If you have a dream, any dream, I highly recommend you do the same. Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoy the music and come back soon! Peace, Mar. - Contact: [email protected]

I wrote this song walking home from the bus stop after a long day at work. It is about me being tired of a former job which I thought was a real sacrifice, things were always the same, I couldn't put ...
